Trust Him To Keep Kids Safe?

Sometimes I let ideas for posts swim around in the swamp that is my mind for a while before I write about them. If they swim away, then I let them go. This subject has been pressing on my mind since day before yesterday, Saturday. Yesterday, as I was going in to town to have lunch with my sister Lou at the nursing home, I was listening to Life and Liberty on the radio. They have a great website too. I heard a quote which was attributed to President John Adams, our 1st American Vice President under President George Washington, our 2nd American President, and father of President John Quincy Adams our 6th American President. When I went to look up the quote, to get the text of it correct, I found a couple of other quotes by President John Adams that are relevant to our current times. Here is the quote that caught my attention on Life and Liberty Radio:

"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by moralty and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. OUR CONSTITUTION WAS MADE ONLY FOR A RELIGIOUS AND MORAL PEOPLE. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other".

Here are the other two quotes by President John Adams, that struck a chord with me:

"There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the Republic (yes, Republic; not a Democracy - I can't say that often enough) into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution". Letter to Jonathan Jackson 10-2-1789 (my observation: the evil that is the Socialist Party has co-opted the Democrat Party in its agenda to end the Republic)

"Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people, who have a right, an indisputable, unalienable, indefeasible, divine right to that most dreaded and envied kind of knowledge - I mean the character and conduct of their rulers".  A Dissertation on the Canon and Feudal Law, 1765 (my observation - while we, unfortunately, know very little about the character and conduct of the person now holding the highest office in America, we know all too much about the character and conduct of the people he has appointed to high government offices - his "czars" - and too few people care that they are morally bankrupt.)

Which brings me to the person who has, for some reason, been heavily on my mind the past few days. Kevin Jennings, the so-called "Safe Schools Czar". The following information may be familiar to some of you. It's from a Fox News article of 9-23-09 that I forwarded along with a letter to my Senators, Cornyn and Hutchison, and then forwarded to my email contacts; and also Senator Cornyn's reply to me on 10-13-09, to which I added further information about Kevin Jennings before forwarding that also. A lot of you already know that I am adamantly against the indoctrination of America's children within the public school system, by left-wing liberals; taking over so much of that which should only be the rights and responsibilities of parents. One area that strongly concerns me is the sexualization of young children, much like pedophiles do to "soften up" their victims. Y'all know I'm not a prude, and what adults choose to do is up to them, their choice; but don't impose adult attitudes on somebody else's children. The area of sexual attitudes and any moral guidelines attached to that issue, belongs solely under the guidance of parents. Not in the hands of  "officials" who would teach that sex has no value except as a bodily function, and certainly no moral or societal restrictions.

I've brought to attention recently the struggle that parents in Helena MT are fighting with the local school board over it's proposed sex education agenda; wanting to use pictures to show kindergarteners sexual genitalia as a means to teach them the proper words for them, planning to teach 6th graders different sexual acts and positions. There is an update; the school district has conceded that it will drop the graphics it had planned to show to 5 and 6 year olds, but still planning to teach them the "proper words" for genitalia, but still planning to go ahead with teaching sexual acts and positions to 11 and 12 year olds. That's just obscene. And I've been pointing out that a lot of federal legislation starts with "test cases" on a local level. Governor Mike Huckabee was interviewed on another Fox News show right after last weeks election, and he said the same thing. Talking about the fact that conservatives / Republicans picked up 680 seats in various state legislatures and another 22 governorships making that total now 27, he mentioned that a lot of federal laws start out as state or local laws that are then picked up by Congress. You can be sure that Obama's "Safe Schools Czar" Kevin Jennings has his eyes on what's happening way out in Helena, MT.

Now to Kevin Jennings; a little background on him: he is a former teacher, an advocate for promoting homosexuality in schools, openly writes about his past drug abuse without expressing regret, and expresses a contempt for religion. He wrote the forward to the book "The Queering of the Elementary Schools"; stated that he wants to "encourage homosexuality in the public schools" and wants kids to be taught about homosexuality as early as kindergarten.  How confusing will that be to them? In his own book, "Mama's Boy, Preacher's Son: A Memoir" he dedicated a chapter to Harry Hay, the man behind NAMBLA (National Association of Man-Boy Love) and praised Hay in a speech as being his inspiration. Hay espoused that the greatest experience boys as young as 13 could have is involvement with older men. Jennings, when he was a teacher, was approached by a 15 year old boy troubled because he had been picked up in a bus station by an older man and had sex with him. Instead of addressing the issue of pedophilia and victimization of a child, which this clearly was, Jennings merely told the boy he hoped he had used a condom. How "cool" was that? Jennings started the organization GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network) which is now widespread in schools across the country. At a GLSEN  conference in 2000,  there was an "educational" seminar for kids that included instruction in various sex acts; one of which is "fisting". If you don't know what that is, look it up. It was described as "an experience of letting somebody into your body that you want to be that close and intimate with". Adults? That's their business. Kids? That's another whole ballgame. Leave the kids alone!

Since being annointed; excuse me, appointed, "Safe School Czar" Kevin Jennings has compiled a list of 100 "Recommended Reading" books for teachers and students. I'm not going to list the titles here, you should look them up for yourself. But they read like pornography. Again, a tactic used by pedophiles to acclimitize young children before victimizing them. I read excerpts from some of the books on the list. One described a teenage girl who recommended teenage prostitution as a means to boost self-esteem. Give me a break, is anybody but a gullible teenager going to believe that becoming a prostitute will make them feel better about themselves? Another described sexual encounters in the boys room at school between kindergarteners. Yet another described a 13 year old boy who spent months "screwing" every boy / man he could. I don't recall any of the "100 Recommended Reading" books advocating anything but homosexual acts; nothing being taught about sex or love between members of the opposite sex.  In the Fox News article, Peter Sprigg, a senior fellow at the Family Research Council was quoted as saying "Jennings was obviously chosen for this job because of the safe schools aspect . . . defining 'safe schools' narrowly in terms of  'safe for homosexuality'." It's clear to me that Jennings is serving to indoctrinate Americas children with his own personal attitudes about sexuality; teaching only a homosexual agenda instead of the whole picture. Like I said, indoctrination. Which leads me to the moral / religious aspect, which should be up to the parents / family of the children of American to impart to them. Here's what Jennings has to say about that, from his above mentioned memoirs: "What had God done for me . . . Squat. Screw you, buddy - I don't need you around anymore, I decided". Speaking of the Baptist Church: ". . . I wanted no more of it or its Father. The long erosion of my faith was now complete, and I, for many years, reacted violently to anyone who professed any kind of religion".

Thus saith Kevin Jennings, "Safe School Czar". Do you trust him to keep your kids safe?

Get Your Popcorn Ready

The shenanigans of "Dirty" Harry Reid were bound to come to light; there was almost no chance he could have beaten Sharon Angle in the election the other night without some "dirty deeds". According to The Hill, here's how the win was snatched from the jaws of defeat: Reid's campaign committee sent an email on election day to the vice president of Harrah's Casinos asking for help and offering to have Reid call to authorize whatever "backing" was needed to make that help forthcoming. The vice president of Harrah's Casinos then sent a memo to all department heads, who sent the department supervisors into every office to ferret out any employees who had not voted. Busses were quickly provided to then take all Harrah's employees - and there are quite a few throughout Nevada (Las Vegas, Reno, Laughlin, etc) - that had not voted, to the polling places and have them vote for Reid. Needless to say, there are many calls going out for the Nevada Secretary of State to investigate this blatant voter tampering before Reid is sworn in, so that the election win can be transferred to Sharon Angle in the event that those Harrah's employees votes are thrown out. Word also has it that Attorney General Eric Holder and the U.S. Dept. of Injustice will be investigating this matter right after it deals with the voter intimidation by New Black Panther Party members in Philadelphia in the 2008 election.

Get Your Popcorn Ready
Stock up on popcorn; the newest investigation show is bound to be entertaining and enlightening. We now have 2 new committee chairmen in the House who are raring to go with investigating the shady goings-on in the Obama regime. Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) is now the Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and Congressman Lamar Smith (R-TX) is now the Chairman of the House Judicial Committee. Fox Philadelphia mentions that both men have been critical of the Obama administration and the Holder Justice Dept. And both men now will have the power to compel people to testify before Congress. The Washington Post speculated that Attorney General Eric Holder may get the first subpoena of the new year in the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation case from 2008. By the way, it happened against last Tuesday, same place in Philadelphia; the same Black Panther that was wielding a billy club in front of the polling place there in 2008 was pacing in front of the doors again this year, minus the billy club, but wearing a big Black Panthers button on his jacket. Emboldened, I'm sure, by the tacit approval given by the Obama regime.

Congressman Issa, who the New York Times has dubbed "the annoyer-in-chief" has been outspoken against the unethical doings of the Obama regime for the last couple of years and has been digging into possible illegal actions that may be grounds for impeachment. He vows to investigate the bailouts, the stimulus, and the health care bill. He said his first point of business will be to grant subpoena power to all 74 of the governments inspectors general. You know, those people that the Obama regime have just conveniently fired when they have brought forth evidence of wrongdoing on the part of the administration. Then Issa is going to form investigation teams and start issuing subpoenas..

Congressman Smith has been a thorn in the side of the Obama regime, insisting that the New Black Panthers Party be investigated and prosecuted for voter intimidation in 2008, He is strong on immigration enforcement and border security, saying that the Obama regime has been lax in the areas of border security and terrorism. He is also in favor of reforming the 14th Amendment to close the "technicality" that grants birthright citizenship to children of illegal aliems. Smith is also a proponent of using subpoena power to get to the truth and to get to the facts. Instead of the administration continuing to be able to dodge any kind of supervision and oversight, Smith says their refusal to testify is no long acceptable.

Among the things Congressman Issa and Congressman Smith are planning to investigate are the Sestak affair where former president Clinton proferred a position in the Obama administration to Sestak if he would drop out of the primary and allow Spector to remain; the "Cornhusker Kickback", and the "Louisiana Purchase". Now they have another incident of meddling by Bill Clinton, to look into: asking the Democratic candidate in Florida to drop out of the race so Charlie Christ would have a chance to beat Marco Rubio. I've often said that this is the most openly corrupt administration in American history, they don't care who sees them doing their dirty deeds; it's the only thing "transparent" about the current regime. But I'm sure what they've allowed us to see is just the tip of the iceberg; remember it was a huge iceberg under the surface that sunk the Titanic.

I can't wait to see what more corruption Congressman Issa and Congressman Smith are able to uncover. It's going to be enlightening, and so very entertaining, and oh so edifying. The liberal pundits are starting to squawk about the Republicans possibly trying to impeach Obama. There was even a petition posted on facebook a couple of weeks ago asking the Republicans not to impeach Obama. Now why would the liberals and the Democrats even worry about that, it they weren't already aware that there are grounds for impeachment, whether they want to give voice to them or not. In espionage circles, when things are being talked about in the background, it's called "chatter". Well, there has been "chatter" on the internet for several weeks that there is a big scandal involving Obama that is going to come out after the election. I saw word (just from a commenter on another article, just speculation at this point) just today, that the New York Times is sitting on information about a "Watergate-esque" event that they are about to blow open. Stock up on popcorn, sit back and enjoy the show.

Selling The Infrastructure Out From Under Us

First, some more good news from the election a couple days ago. NumbersUSA tracks Congress members on their immigration stance; one way they "sort" is by whether the member is pro-high-immigration or pro-low-immigration. We were able to replace 24 high-immigration-proponents in the House and 6 high-immigration-proponents in the Senate with Republicans that are proponents of low-immigration quotas. FAIR (Federation for American Immigration Reform) has a breakdown of a Pew Hispanic Center survey of unemployement percentages in their newsletter from Tuesday. Between June 2009 and June 2010, the unemployment rate for immigrants dropped by 0.6%, while during that same period unemployment for Americans rose 0.5%. Within the ethnic group of Hispanics, the unemployment rate for immigrant Hispanics dropped from 11 % to 10.1% while the unemployment rate for American Hispanics rose from 12.9% to 14%. The Pew Research Center is a non-partisan, non-biased research "think tank". Their research is completely above-board, and shows that illegal immigrants are taking jobs away from American citizens.

The television program "60 Minutes' did an episode recently on the unemployment situation in America. While the "official" unemployement rate is 9.5%, the "real" unemployment rate which includes those not getting unemployment checks or working part time, is actually about 17%. There is a group called 99er's that are unemployed Americans who have been out of work longer than the 99 weeks covered by unemployment compensation. Fox did coverage on them a couple of weeks ago; they are getting organized and unionized with the help of SEIU so that they can lobby Congress to extend unemployment benefits even longer than 99 weeks. The current number of 99er's is 1.6 million and growing daily, costing us tax payers over $100 billion so far. One of the ways Obama came up with to put Americans back to work was with "shovel ready" infrastructure jobs; i.e. jobs building highways, bridges, railways, runways, etc. According to Wikipedia, $105.3 billion in the Stimulus Act was designated for infrastructure jobs. According to the Wall Street Journal, only 1/3 of the stimulus money for infrastructure has been spent; $8 billion of the stimulus money for infrastructure was to be dedicated to the railroad system and only 7% of it has been spent. Yet, according to the Washington Examiner on 9/9/10 Obama went back to Congress and asked for an addition $50 million infrastructure stimulus fund to "overhaul America's transportation networks". Yet, our government is selling our infrastructure to foreign countries. Our oil assets, our natural gas assets, our manufacturing assets, our uranium assets, and now our infrastructure assets. America, itself, is being sold out from under us.

I found an article on The Economic Collapse blog, citing an article in Rolling Stone magazine, that lays out how our money is going to foreign nations such as Saudi Arabia, China, Kuwait, Libya, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, to purchase oil or goods or in the form of aid; and that money is being used by those "sovereign wealth funds" to buy up American infrastructure assets. We are being screwed coming and going. Every month, tens of billions of our tax dollars are going to other countries, who are then using that money to buy our infrastructure assets that we paid to build with our tax dollars in the first place. Obama has doubled the rate and value of major acquisitions of American infrastructure by foreign nations in just the first 6 months of this year alone. Here are some of the examples given in the Rolling Stone article: a toll highway in Indiana, the Chicago Skyway (elevated system), a stretch of highway in Florida, parking meters in Nashville, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, etc; and a large number of California public infrastructure projects. A whole array of infrastructure assets, from highways to airports to parking garages to toll roads to parking meters, anything that can be considered infrastructure, is being sold or long-term leased (50 to 75 years) right out from under us. We are making the rest of the world wealthy enough that they can come back and buy our country away from us with our own money.

In the Market for a Runway, Railway, or Highway?

A lot of these projects have already been completed; those that are not could provide jobs for Americans and profits for American companies that could then grow and provide more jobs for Americans. The assets that are completed, likewise, could provide jobs for more Americans. How many Americans dearly need work, need an income, and would gladly work for a construction company, or even a parking garage? And the proceeds and profits from all the infrastructure jobs could be going into growing American companies instead of lining the pockets of foreigners we've already made rich by buying their oil and goods. Which in turn could help creat more jobs for more Americans. Oh but wait; I've got it wrong. It's the government that's going to create jobs for Americans. So it doesn't really matter that our own government is selling America out from under us. And Obama faster than any president so far. So we don't really need our country; Uncle Sugar will make it all better by spreading the wealth brought in by selling America to the highest bidders. Right? Dead wrong. America, wake up and smell the bridges burning.

A Word of Wisdom for Today - From 1837

I've always thought it was kind of fitting that the man who would become the first President of the newly formed Republic of the United States of America (not democracy), George Washington, was a descendent of the Royal Family of Great Britain. It seems like kind of an "in your face" moment in history. Since George Washington had to fill a never-before-held position, he wasn't privvy to a job description. The office of the Presidency was formed out of the whole fabric that was the essence of the integrity of George Washington. There has always been an inherent sense of dignity imbued by the very position that each ensuing President has risen to, up to but not including the present office-holder. Now we have a "bro" or a "cuz", pick one, who has gone around the world apologizing for America and bowing down to foreign heads of state; who has appeared on such undignified venues as The View (or as I unaffectionately call them, The Shrews), Jon Stewart's Daily Show on Comedy Central television network, MTV, Univision (the Mexican network where he told hispanics to "punish their enemies" - everybody that doesn't agree with him); did a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest, one of the judges on American Idol; and did an interview with Rolling Stones magazine. After 2 years, I still can't bring myself to put the auspicious title of President in front of the name Barack Hussein Obama. He deminishes and tarnishes the position.

As we are faced with the largest tax hike in American history, saddled with a National debt that will never be paid off, and hampered with the strangling chains of socialism being tightened around us, I came across an article yesterday in the Washington Times, "Old Hickory's Tea Party Roots".  For those of you who never knew or don't remember, Old Hickory is the nickname of one of our past Presidents, Andrew Jackson. The article has the text of one of his speeches, which I am going to post without my own comments. It speaks for itself. Read it and contemplate; the more things change, the more things remain the same:

"Being about to retire finally from public life, I beg leave to offer you my grateful thanks for the many proofs of kindness and confidence which I have received at your hands . . . And if I use the occasion to offer to you the counsels of age and experience, you will, I trust, receive them with the same indulgent kindness which you have so often extended to me, and will at least see in them an earnest desire to perpetuate in this favored land the blessings of liberty and equal law.

We have now lived almost 50 years under the Constitution framed by the sages and patriots of the Revolution. The conflicts in which the nations of Europe were engaged during a great part of this period, the spirit in which they waged war against each other, and our intimate commercial connections with every part of the civilized world rendered it a time of much difficulty for the Government of the United States. We have had our seasons of peace and of war, with all the evils which precede or follow a state of hostility with powerful nations. We encountered these trials with our Constitution yet in its infancy, and under the disadvantages which a new and untried government must always feel when it is called upon to put forth its whole strength without the lights of experience to guide it or the weight of precedents to justify its measures. But we have passed triumphantly through all these difficulties. Our Constitution is no longer a doubtful experiment, and at the end of nearly half a century we find that it has preserved unimpaired the liberties of the people, secured the rights of property, and that our country has improved and is flourishing beyond any former example in the history of nations . . .

It is well known that there have always been those amongst us who wish to enlarge the powers of the General Government, and experience would seem to indicate that there is a tendency on the part of this Government to overstep the boundaries marked out for it by the Constitution. Its legitimate authority is abundantly sufficient for all the purposes for which it was created, and its powers being expressly enumerated, there can be no justification for claiming anything beyond them. Every attempt to exercise power beyond these limits should be promptly and firmly opposed, for one evil example will lead to other measures still more mischievous; and if the principle of constructive powers or supposed advantages or temporary circumstances shall ever be permitted to justify the assumption of a power not give by the Constitution, the General Government will before long absorb all the powers of legislation, and you will have in effect but one consolidated government. From the extent of our country, its diversified interests, different pursuits, and different habits, it is too obvious for argument that a single consolidated government would be wholly inadequate to watch over and protect its interests; and every friend of our free institutions should be always prepared to maintain unimpared in full vigor the rights and sovereignty of the States and to confine the action of the General Government strictly to the sphere of its appropriate duties.

There is, perhaps, no one of the powers conferred on the Federal Government so liable to abuse as the taxing power. The most productive and convenient sources of revenue were necessarily given to it, that it might be able to perform the important duties imposed upon it; and the taxes which it lays upon commerce being concealed from the real payer in the price of the article, they do not so readily attract the attention of the people as smaller sums demanded from them directly by the tax gatherer. But the tax imposed on goods enchances by so much the price of the commodity to the consumer, and as many of these duties are imposed on articles of necessity which are daily used by the great body of the people, the money raised by these imposts is drawn from their pockets. Congress has no right under the Constitution to take money from the people unless it is required to execute some one of the specific powers intrusted to the Government; and if they raise more than is necessary for such purposes, it is an abuse of the power of taxation, and unjust and oppressive. It may indeed happen that the revenue will sometimes exceed the amount anticipated when the taxes were laid. When, however, this is ascertained, it is easy to reduce them, and in such a case it is unquestionably the duty of the Government to reduce them, for no circumstance can justify it in assuming a power not given to it by the Constitution nor in taking away the money of the people when it is not needed for the legitimate wants of the Government.

Plain as these principles appear to be, you will yet find there is a constant effort to induce the General Government to go beyond the limits of its taxing power and to impose unnecessary burdens upon the people. Many powerful interests are continually at work to procure heavy duties on commerce and to swell the revenue beyond the real necessities of the public service, and the country has already felt the injurious effects of their combined influence. They succeeded in obtaining a tariff of duties bearing most oppressively on the agricultural and laboring classes of society and producing a revenue that could not be usefulyl employed within the range of the powers conferred upon Congress, and in order to fasten upon the people this unjust and unequal system of taxation extravagant schemes of internal improvement were got up in various quarters to squander the money and to purchase support. Thus one unconstitutional measure was intended to be upheld by another, and the abuse of the power of taxation was to be maintained by usurping the power of expending the money in internal improvements. You can not have forgotten the severe and doubtful struggle through which we passed when the executive department of the Government by its veto endeavored to arrest this prodigal scheme of injustice and to bring back the legislation of Congress to the boundaries prescribed by the Constitution. The good sense and practical judgment of the people when the subject was brought before them sustained the course of the Executive, and this plan of unconstitutional expenditures for the purposes of corrupt influence is, I trust, finally overthrown.

The result of this decision has been felt in the rapid extinguishment of the public debt and the large accumulation of a surplus in the Treasury, notwithstanding the tariff was reduced and is now very far below the amount originally contemplated by its advocates. But, rely upon it, the design to collect an extravagant revenue and to burden you with taxes beyond the economical wants of the Government is not yet abandoned. The various interests which have combined together to impose a heavy tariff and to produce an overflowing Treasury are too strong and have too much at stake to surrender the contest. The corporations and wealthy individuals who are engaged in large manufacturing establishments desire a high tariff to increase their gains. Designing politicians will support it to conciliate their favor and to obtain the means of profuse expenditure for the purpose of purchasing influence in other quarters; and since the people have decided that the Federal Government can not be permitted to employ its income in internal improvements, efforts will be made to seduce and mislead the citizens of the several States by holding out to them the deceitful prospect of benefits to be derived from a surplus revenue collected by the General Government and annually divided among the States; and if, encouraged by these fallacious hopes, the States should disregard the principles of economy which ought to characterize every republican government, and should indulge in lavish expenditures exceeding their resources, they will before long find themselves oppressed with debts which they are unable to pay, and the temptation will become irresistible to support a high tariff in order to obtain a surplus for distribution. Do not allow yourselves, my fellow-citizens, to be misled on this subject. The Federal Government can not collect a surplus for such purposes without violating the principles of the Constitution and assuming powers which have not been granted. It is, moreover, a system of injustice, and if persisted in will inevitably lead to corruption, and must end in ruin. The surplus revenue will be drawn from the pockets of the people - from the farmer, the mechanic, and the laboring classes of society; but who will receive it when distributed among the States, where it is to be disposed of by leading State politicians, who have friends to favor and political partisans to gratify? It will certainly not be returned to those who paid it and who have most need of it and are honestly entitled to it. There is but one safe rule, and that is to confine the General Government rigidly within the sphere of its appropriate duties. It has no power to raise a revenue or impose taxes except for the purposes enumerated in the Constitution, and if its income is found to exceed these wants it should be forthwith reduced and the burden of the people so far lightened . . .

In presenting to you, my fellow-citizens, these parting counsels, I have brought before you the leading principles upon which I endeavored to administer the Government in the high office with which you twice honored me. Knowing that the path of freedom is continually beset by enemies who often assume the disguise of friends, I have devoted the last hours of my public life to warn you of the dangers. The progress of the United States under our free and happy institutions has surpassed the most sanguine hopes of the founders of the Republic (yes Republic, not a Democracy). Channelling Patrick Henry

This morning, after the Republicans won back the House of Representatives in yesterdays mid-term elections, but failed to win a majority in the Senate, and after "Dirty" Harry Reid of NV was elected by whatever dirty deeds we don't know (yet), I had a commiserating phone call from a friend. An immigrant from Hungary who opines that American young people are woefully unread and under-educated in regards to their own history. I have to agree with that assessment. I recently heard our founders described as a "bunch of old, dead white men".  First of all, they weren't all old, white, or men. The youngest signer of the Declaration of Independence was 26 year old Edward Rutledge of South Carolina; blacks fought alongside whites in the Revolutionary War; and there were women soldiers, one of which was in Washington's boat crossing the Delaware. Second, we should all thank God for that small group of men with their dream of freedom (not just the purvue of MLK Jr.) and the courage of their convictions; who pledged each other their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor. That last, the sacred honor, is all too sadly lacking in America today. And yes, they did have fortunes; George Washington was a descendent of the ruling house of England. By the end of the Revolutionary War, most of them had indeed given their fortunes, and a lot of them had given their lives. We need the Spirit of '76 in America today.

Most of us remember scant of our history lessons, but most of us remember the words "Give me liberty or give me death", sometimes without remembering who said it, or when. The winds of the Revolutionary War started blowing long before that fateful July 4, 1776. The colonies had started organizing; and one colony, Virginia, had established a House of Burgesses, in opposition to the rule of the Governor appointed by King George of England.. In March of 1775, attorney Patrick Henry was riding thru the town square of Culpepper VA when he saw a man tied to a whipping post, being scourged with whips laced with metal. When Henry asked why, he was told that the man was a minister who refused to stop preaching the word of God without a license from the King of England. There were a total of 12 ministers that day, all beaten to death by the King George's "enforcers". That brave minister had declared at his trial, without benefit of a jury of his peers, that he was authorized by God Almighty, not the King of England. I see a parallel between the Court of England and the government of the United States. Our government is trying to suppress, control, and dictate to us, the right to worship our God, the God of Christians in America.

Here is the text of the speech that Patrick Henry gave 3 days later, March 23, 1775, before the Virginia House of Burgesses, with my own comments in italics; The War Inevitable Speech by Patrick Henry:
"No man thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism, as well as the abilities of the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the house. But different men often see the same subject in different lights, and, therefore, I hope it will not be thought disrespectful to those gentlemen, if, entertaining as I do, opinions of a character very opposite to theirs, I should speak forth my sentiments freely, and without reserve. This is no time for ceremony. The question before the house is one of awful moment to this country (just as today, as we are being led, almost forced into socialism). Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the majesty of heaven, which I revere about all earthly kings (if we keep our mouths shut out of political correctness, we risk a grave injustice to America and God).

"Mister President, it is natural for man to indulge in the illusions of hope (or, the illusion that is "hope and change"). We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth - and listen to the song of that siren, till she transforms us into beasts (wake up America, or we won't recognize what we have become). Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty (a struggle like we're in today)? Are we disposed to be of the number of those, who having eyes, see not, and having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation (America, open your eyes, your ears)? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it (the truth is not always pretty, but Americans are strong).

"I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided; and that is the lamp of experience. I know of no way of judging the future but by the past (learn from the past, don't repeat mistakes). And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of the British ministry (Obama regime) for the last ten years (2 years) to justify those hopes with which gentlemen have been pleased to solace themselves and the house (to justify trusting them)? Is it that insidious smile (smug smirk) with which our petition has been lately received? Trust it not, sir; it will prove a snare to your feet.

"Suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss (see both sides of Obama's duplicity). Ask yourselves how this gracious reception of our petition comports with those warlike preparations which cover our waters and darken our land (Obama has declared war on half of American, those who disagree with him are enemies). Are fleets and armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation (wny does Obama need a National Security Force)? Have we shown ourselves so unwilling to be reconciled that force must be called in to win back our love? Let us not deceive ourselves, sir. These are the implements of war and subjugation - the last arguments to which kings (or dictators) resort. I ask gentlemen, sir, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? Can gentlemen assign any other possible motive for it (well, why does he need his own civilian army)? Has Great Britain (the Obama regime) any enemy in this quarter of the world, to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies (to appoint so many "czars" and expand the Dept of Injustice)? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us; they can almost be meant for no other. They are sent over to bind and rivet upon us those chains (increased taxes and regulations), which the British ministry (Obama regime) have been so long forging. And what have we to oppose them? Shall we try argument? Sir, we have been trying that for the last ten (2) years. Have we anything new to offer upon the subject? Nothing. We have held the subject up in every light of which it was capable; but it has been all in vain (Obama doesn't listen to us). Shall we resort to entreaty and humble supplication? What terms shall we find that we have not already exhausted? Let us not, I beseech you, sir, deceive ourselves longer. Sir, we have done everything that could be done, to avert the storm which is now coming on (vote them out).

"We have petitioned - we have remonstrated - we have supplicated - we have prostrated ourselves before the throne, and have implored its interposition to arrest the tyrannical hands of the ministry and parliament (we have demonstrated, rallied and picketed to try to stop Obama and the Democrat Congress). Our petitions have been slighted; our remonstrances have produced additional violence and insult (we have been insulted, vilified, and beaten down); our supplications have been disregarded (laws have been rammed down our throats); and we have been spurned, with contempt, from the foot of the throne (Obama declared "I won"). In vain, after these things, we may indulge the fond hope of peace and reconciliation. There is no longer any room for hope (Obama turns a deaf ear). If we wish to be free - if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending - if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon, until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained - we must fight? - I repeat, sir we must fight (America, unless we want to lose what our founders gave their lives for, our freedom, privileges and rights, we must never give up, never give in)! An appeal to arms and to the God of Hosts is all that is left us (we must engage God in our struggle)!

"They tell us, sir, that we are weak - unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be next week or the next year (the time is now, the place is here)? Will it be when we are totally disarmed (2nd Amendment right), and when a British guard (civilian security force) shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction (lethargy weakens)? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs, and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot (appeasement doesn't work)? Sir, we are not weak, if we make a proper use of those means the God of Nature hath placed in our power (God will strengthen us). Three millions of people armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us (we're Americans, we can prevail). Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations; and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us (God will be with us). The battle, sir is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. Besides, sir, we have no election (he means no choice). If we are base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest (wanting freedom is the 1st step to attaining it). There is not retreat, but in submission and slavery. Our chains are forged (Obama and his corrupt cartel already intend to subjugate us). Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston? The war is inevitable - and let it come (once again, America has to fight for it's freedom, this time from within)! I repeat, sir, let it come!

What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? There's Got To Be A Morning After

Today is the mid-term elections for Congress, electing Senators and Representatives. Please God, we will elect enough conservative Republicans, if not to obtain a majority in both Houses, to at least stop the sickening slide into European-style socialism Obama and his corrupt cartel threw the United States into with the general elections of 2008. As far as I'm concerned, the only good liberal is a gone liberal. Starting tomorrow, however, we need to be aware that Obama is not going to give up any of the power he has grabbed unto himself, with his Democrat-majority Congress that allowed him to pass just about any measure he chose to. Look for him to try to rely more and more on executive orders to conduct his agenda, by way of completely circumventing Congress. Like CNS News observed back in August, "He doesn't want to be a president, he wants to be a dictator ruling by fiat". In an interview last week, Obama told the interviewer that "we have the structure in place" to start implementing most of the measure that have already passed. One thing to look for is the tightening of EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) rules and guidelines as a way to adapt some of the measures Obama wanted in the Global Warming Initiative that he wasn't able to get passed. Or to start using the Health Choices Committee (death panel) that was set up and funded thru the Stimulus Bill.

Look for Congress to try to feverishly ram thru some more legislation during their lame-duck session before the newly elected members of Congress are seated on January 1, 2011. During his campaigning for the presidential election in 2008, Obama talked about the "need" for a civilian security force "as large and as well funded as the military".  Well, now Congressman (or maybe it's Senator) Charlie Rangel wants to give it to Obama. According to Western Journalism, he has proposed the Universal National Service Act, requiring everybody between 18 and 42 (42?) to perform service, in the armed forces or in civilian service, in the interest of national defense and homeland security. The proposal also reinstates the "draft", calling for the induction of both men and women into the armed forces during wartime. If you aren't fit for military service, then you have to serve in the civilian service. This may be a smoke screen. I think everything the corrupt cartel does is scripted and structured. There was no need to worry about "death panels" in obamacare; they were already set up in the stimulus bill. Now, we are all watching to see what happens with Rangel's proposal, when in reality there is already a provision in obamacare (Section 5210: Establishing a Ready Reserve Corps.); the description of which very closely resembles what Charlie is proposing. Smoke screen? Maybe, maybe not.

There are two ways in which the lame-duck Congress plans to try to ram shamnesty down our throats while they still have a Democrat majority. In today's newsletter from FAIR (Federation for American Immigration Reform) Senator "Dirty" Harry Reid is promising action on the DREAM Act before the end of the year. That's his plan to allow illegal aliens who came here as children and are between the ages of 15 and 30, to attend college or do military service in exchange for legality. Which would then grant them citizenship in 2 years and they could then "sponsor" all their illegal relatives for citizenship. One question - what happens to all those illegal relatives in the meantime? Are they just allowed to continue sponging off America at will, while they are waiting for the back door to open for them? Reid announced his plan on Univision; you know, the Mexican television network that Obama spoke on last week where he told the hispanics to "punish their enemies", those of us who oppose blanket amnesty. Dirty Harry seems sure of his chances of success; he told The Hill yesterday that "We all support the DREAM Act. I just need a handful of Republicans to help me." Dream on, Harry. Now let's take a look at Congressman Luis Gutierrez of Illinois. He's going for the whole enchilada. He want's "comprehensive immigration reform"; i.e. blanket amnesty for everybody. He plans to re-introduce the bill he wrote, in the upcoming week, and try to get it passed by the end of the year. He even gave up a chance to run for mayor of Chicago to stay in Congress and push for shamnesty. So far, Gutierrez has helped over 50,000 illegals in the Chicago area become legal, according to Chicago Now. And he told the Chicago Tribune "That is my vocation and that is where I will put my energy in the coming months." So we need to put our energy into continuing to let our Congress critters know they'd better not pass shamnesty.

There are 2 more ways the corrupt cartel plans to try to get into our wallets while they have a lame-duck Democrat majority. One is by way of HR-4646, the so-called "Debt Free America Act" introduced by Congressman Peter deFazio (D-OR) and Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA). In addition to letting the Bush tax cuts expire the end of they year, Congress is also trying to impose a 1% financial transaction tax. What it will mean, unless we can stop it, is that everytime we make a bank deposit, bank withdrawal, or write a check, we will pay 1% of the transaction into the U.S. Treasury as tax revenue. For instance, if you have a paycheck deposit of $500, Uncle Sugar will get $5; for a transaction of $5,000, the government will get $50; and so on. Not just for deposits. For every financial (bank) transaction, whether you're putting in or taking out. The bill is now in committee, and page 11 of it states that the vote on passage shall occur not later than December 23, 2010. Merry Christmas; not. But by far the most diabolical of the financial grabs that Obama and his cronies are trying to make is the nationalization of our 401K's. The House of Representatives has already held hearings on it; Obama has an unofficial 401K nationalization czar, Teresa Ghilarducci of the New School for Social (socialism) Research, who has already testified in favor of the government seizing 401K's and other retirement assets. Also, on the Senatorial side of the aisle, Senator John Kerry (D-MA) introduced a bill in August to mandate (make mandatory) automatic IRA (401K) contributions. Sounds like that's paving the way to guarantee a constant influx of money into the 401K's after the current regime appropriates them. According to World Net Daily and Western Journalism, the plan is to apply the money's in retirement accounts, which is over $15 trillion, to the national debt, then "equalize" what everybody gets by way of retirement dispensation. Can we say "socialism", children? The next "taskforce" meeting on this is scheduled for November 10. We need to also continue contacting our members of Congress and let them know to keep their hands out of our bank accounts and our retirement accounts. America, wake up and smell the sulfur burning.

Pot = Kettle = Black

Voting is a Right of Citizenship




Hi y'all. I'm baaaack. After a brief hiatus. I had a houseguest for 8 days; a liberal, which goes to show that liberals and conservatives can survive under the same roof.  Since tomorrow is election day, I'm going to write about all the rampant voter fraud being perpetrated by the Democrats; which comes as no surprise to anybody. However, first I want to mention a couple of things in recent news that is voter related, just not necessarily fraud related; but if left unaddressed, could lead to more voter fraud. On the Democratic side, of course. Arizona has had a law on the books for several years requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote. Last week, Sandra Day O'Connor took it upon herself to open the door to widespread voter fraud in Arizona. I know, she retired from the Supreme Court. But she is a "roving judge", filling in for judges in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Recently she struck down the Arizona law, which has been in effect since 2004, requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote. Now, anybody that wants to, can register to vote in Arizona, regardless of their citizenship or residence status. Also in the news lately, some cities are trying to pass local ordinances allowing anybody to vote in local elections, whether they are citizens or not. That would be Portland ME, New York City, and San Francisco. The feeling is, that anybody that lives there should be able to vote in matters that affect them. Just another crack in the door for illegal immigrants. Or as the Western Journalism article calls them, "undocumented Democrats". VOTING IS A RIGHT OF AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP. If you're not a citizen, whether you are here legally or not, you haven't earned the right to vote in our elections. Period.

Now on to the voter fraud issue. Everybody knows about the voter fraud that was widespread in the 2008 election. ACORN was rampant in perpetrating it, such as registering all the Dallas Cowboys to vote in Denver CO and registering Mickey Mouse to vote in FL, giving cigarettes and money to people when they registered, etc. And everybody has seen the video of the New Black Panthers Party physically intimidating voters; and knows that they were charged with voter intimidation, which charges were dropped by Eric Holder and the Obama Dept. of Injustice. After the case was won by default because the defendents didn't bother to appear in court. Some of the employees of the Obama/Holder Justice Dept. who have defied Holders orders to ignore the Congressional subpoenas and actually testified before Congress have stated that they are told that the Civil Rights Act didn't apply to white people and that they were not to respond to complaints where the victims were white,or where the accused are black. Ergo, Dept of Injustice. Actually, the intimidation and fraud in the 2008 election started during the primary voting. There was a case here in Texas where people showing up at the polls to vote in the Democratic primary were told "If you're not voting for Obama, you're not voting today".

This year, the voter fraud is even more widespread and transparent. It's like the Democrats are going to win, whatever measures it takes to win; and they don't care how openly they do it, because it's so widespread that it won't all be caught or corrected. The most publicized cases are in Nevada and North Carolina, where the voting machines are popping up with the Democrat candidates names checked off when the voters are pushing the buttons for Republicans. Also, some people showing up at the polls and giving their names to be checked off on the register list are finding that their ballots have already been cast, BEFORE THEY EVEN ARRIVED AT THE VOTING PLACE. The state of Illinois failed to mail out the absentee ballots to it's military service members, yet they hand-carried absentee ballots to the prisons. (Convicted felons can't vote, but misdemeanor convicts and those in jail awaiting trial can. An interesting point from 2008, in the Minnesota Congressional race: Al Franken won his seat by the same number of votes as those of the prison absentee ballots.) In Cincinnati OH, high school students old enough to vote were taken out of class during school hours, given only the Democrat ballot, bussed to early voting places, then taken out for ice cream after they voted for the Democrats. Last month, the entire city council of Troy NY, all Democrats, were required to give DNA samples (cheek swabs) because all it's members are being investigated for absentee ballot fraud. In Pennsylvania, nursing homes are being investigated because the staffs are mailing in ballots for patients in comas or suffering from alzheimers. In Dallas, the ballots at several precincts only had the name of the Democrat candidate, Eddie Bernice Johnson, on them and not the name of her Republican opponent, Pastor Stephen Broden. Eddie, by the way, is being investigated for funneling federal scholarship money to family members and staff family members. In Daytona Beach, FL a Democratic official and his campaign manager were arrested for absentee ballot fraud. I don't remember their names, but I saw the television report where they were led away in handcuffs.

Now closer to home, Houston TX. I wrote previously about the election fraud charges against the organization Houston Votes, which was run by an SEIU employee who turned in 25,000 voter registrations alone, of which over 23,000 were fraudulent. That's not to mention those turned in by other Houston Votes people. A group of volunteer poll watchers witnessed such obvious voter fraud in 2008, that they formed an organization named True the Vote and investigated Houston Votes. They went thru proper channels and turned their findings over to the Harris County Registrar of Voters, who verified the evidence and then turned the case over to the Harris County District Attorneys Office. Within days of the Harris County District Attorneys office filing charges against Houston Votes, a warehouse holding 40,000 voting machines was burned to the ground. Now enter Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Let me digress a moment and take this opportunity to address some misinformation that has been fed to, and swallowed by, the blacks in America. Back in July, Jackson-Lee spoke at an NAACP meeting in Kansas City where she vilified the Tea Party movement as being the KKK without the sheets; those who wore the sheets are now wearing clothes and calling themselves the Tea Party. If Jackson-Lee knew her American history, then she would know that the KKK was started as an arm of the Democrat Party, which itself was started to oppose the Republicans led by Abraham Lincoln in freeing the black slaves. The Democrat Party started the KKK as a means to intimidate freed blacks and the white Republicans who were helping them. One-third of the people killed by the KKK were white people, Republicans who supported the emancipation of blacks.

Now back to Sheila Jackson Lee and voter fraud. She was caught last week on video tape, campaigning at an early voting place, that just also happened to be where her offices are. A poll watcher observed the illegal polling place campaigning and reported it to one of the election clerks. When Jackson-Lee became aware of who had reported her, instead of ceasing and desisting from breaking the federal election laws, she demanded to know the person's name and who they represented. She was asked by the election clerk to leave and wouldn't; she had to be ordered out of the polling place by the election clerk. The article from the Cypress Times didn't give that information about the poll watcher, but from Jackson-Lee's actions, I can surmise that it was somebody from True the Vote, which to my knowledge is not affiliated with the Tea Party. So what did Jackson-Lee do? What all Democrats do, deflect, dissemble, disseminate. (Like Press Secretary Goofy Gibbs did when a reporter asked him about Michelle Obama campaigning at an early voting place when she cast her ballot; he told the press pool that nobody would dare press charges against her because their life would be made miserable) Here's what Sheila Jackson Lee did: she called Eric Holder at Obama's Dept. of Injustice. And what did Holder do? Why, he promptly sent investigators down to Houston to look into the allegations of voter intimidation against the poll watchers of True the Vote who dared to stop Sheila Jackson Lee in her endeavors to break federal election laws by campaigning within 100 feet of a polling place. Hell, she wasn't just within 100 feet, she was INSIDE the lobby of the building. Are the allegations against her going to be investigated? Of course not. For two reasons. First, according to several Justice Dept. employee's testimony before Congress, the Dept. of Justice will not investigate or inforce allegations against blacks for voter fraud; and Sheila Jackson Lee is black. Second, she's a Democrat; and like so many Democrats in the current regime who break the laws (Maxine Waters, Barney Frank, Eddie Bernice Johnson, to name a few), nothing will be done to stop Democrats who break the law, much less bring them to justice.  So a Democrat blatantly defying federal election laws won't be investigated, but the poll watcher she reported for stopping her, will. Now, isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?
