Endowed By Our Creator

A lot has happened since my last post on Thanksgiving Day. And a lot is still the same; so many Americans don't know, or just plain don't care, what is being done behind that smoke and mirror put up by the current regime in our Capital. We still have a leader who edits out "endowed by our Creator" when he quotes our Constitution, who told a foreign country our national motto is E Pluribus Unim - "out of many, one" - instead of what it really is and always will be, IN GOD WE TRUST; and who rarely puts his hand over his heart when our National Anthem is played and sometimes simply turns his back on the flag. However, there is a small ray of HOPE now that we have passed the halfway mark in this current regime, we have elected a Republican majority in the House of Representatives; and I can see 2012 from my house.

As I was sitting at my computer, listening to the swearing in of the 112th Congress a couple of weeks ago - January 5, 2011 - I was suddenly struck by the words of the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, who as he was praying, invoked the presence of the Lord into the Chamber of Congress. Here was our God, being invited into the halls of our government; in the very country that our leader has declared is no longer a Christian nation: in fact he has announced that we are one of the largest muslim nations in the world. Figure that one out for yourself - in a population of 309 million, muslims make up less than 1%.  And here was a Christian man of the cloth, praying to our Christian Savior, asking for guidance for our nation from our Christian Lord. Yet, how many Americans are there out there, who voted for Obama based on the color of his skin and not the content of his character; who treat him like a messiah or rock star; who care more for the fact that he was elected than what he's done since being elected; who while treating him like a messiah will take everything that comes out of his mouth as "gospel" and not recognize the lies and distortions for what they are?

Each house of Congress, both the Senate and the House of Representives, has it's own Christian Chaplain. There are ministers available from other religions, and prayer gatherings available in those religions; but it is the Christian Chaplains that lead the prayers on the floor of Congress. When the words of the Chaplain of the House of Representatives caught my attention on swearing-in day a couple of weeks ago, I decided to look up the text of his entire prayer. I found it on the website of the Chaplain, the Reverend Daniel P. Coughlin; and I want to first share with you his introductory words: "To serve as Chaplain for the U.S. House of Representatives is truly an honor and a privilege. To be both a minister of the Lord and an officer serving the United States government responds to a twofold call to serve others and offer prayer that unites Heaven and Earth. With 435 Members in the House and their staffs, plus all the other wonderful people who serve here with committee work or in the Chamber, including teenage Pages, my pastoral duties are many and varied. My goal is to meet the needs of this working community on a personal level. The problems that weigh on hearts and the confusion that at times blocks clarity of thinking become my concerns. The formal prayer BEFORE EACH LEGISLATIVE SESSION OF CONGRESS, (emphasis mine) and even before days of pro forma sessions, casts a light on the day that awakens faith and calls forth a nation to stand with it's leaders and affirm: "In God We Trust." But daily prayer for the Members of the House cannot end there. I ask people across this great country to join me in praying for the Members of the House of Representatives. Know the Member of your congressional district by name and raise his or her name before God each day with us here in the nation's capital. Pray for me, also, that I may be always rooted in prayer and a good instrument for accomplishing God's holy will here. Only by being free in the Spirit can I serve all the people here, regardless of their faith persuasion or denomination. Only by listening attentively to each person can I offer good counsel, encouragement, and gentle correction. Thank you for your interest in and support of the Members of the House."

Opening prayer, 112th Congress, given by Reverend Daniel P. Coughlin January 5, 2011:
"Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful believers. Enkindle within them the fire of Divine Love; that they may be truly open to respond to Your Word and the needs of Your people. Lord, send forth Your Spirit and renew the face of the earth. May the Spirit of the Living God descend upon this Chamber; that from here may come forth good news for the poor and healing for the broken-hearted of this nation. Let there go forth a proclamtion to the people that captivity is ended. And the action of true politicians will set this nation free. By setting single-minded self interest aside in the search for the common good, may a just society flourish with the gifts of Your Spirit and be recognized in equal justice, unity and peace. Lord, may this 112th Congress of the United States of America be an instrument of Your goodness with abiding laws and embrace clarity in policy statements; reaching beyond institutional thinking and public opinion polls. May every human life of this country be renewed with dignity and purpose so we may truly glory in the name of the free children of God made in Your image and conformed to Your saving grace, both now and forever. Amen."

Y'all know that one of my "pet peeves" is having the world told by the top executive of our country that we are not a Christian nation. We are, always have been, and always will be, a Christian nation. There's a liberal "talking head" on television, Bill Maher, who was fired from one network after 9-11-01 for saying that the terrorists who flew their planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the field in Pennsylvania and murdered thousands of innocent people, were "courageous". Now he has another show on another network, and is still spewing his distortions. Last week, in a monologue on his show (which I don't watch, but the video is out there to find, don't believe me, go look for it) he made the assertion that "the founding fathers knew the Bible was a bunch of bullshit". His words, not mine. Interestingly enough, while I was at the website of Chaplain Coughlin, I visited the archives and printed off the very first prayer of the very first American Congress, which I will share now to illustrate how wrong Mr. Maher is. It was given by Reverend Jacob Duche', Rector of Christ Church of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, September 7, 1774, 9 o'clock a.m.

First Prayer of the Continental Congress, 1774
"O Lord our Heavenly Father, high and mighty King of kings, and Lord of lords, who dost from Thy throne behold all the dwellers on earth and reignest with power supreme and uncontrolled over all the Kingdoms, Empries and Governments; look down in mercy, we beseech Thee, on these our American States, who have fled to Thee from the rod of the oppressor and thrown themselves on Thy gracious protection, desiring to be henceforth dependent only on Thee. To Thee have they appealed for the righteousness of their cause; to Thee do they now look up for that countenance and support, which Thou alone canst give. Take them, therefore, Heavenly Father under Thy nurturing care; give them wisdom in Council and valor in the field; defeat the malicious designs of our cruel adversaries; convince them of the unrighteousness of their Cause and if they persist in the sanguinary purposes, of own unerring justice, sounding in their hearts, constrain them to drop the weapons of war from their unnerved hands in the day of battle! Be Thou present, O God of wisdom, and direct the councils of this honorable assembly; enable them to settle things on the best and surest foundation. God bless the souls of the founding fathers (and mothers) for what they laid down and gave up for us! The founding fathers were not only Christians, they were Christian Soldiers; people after my own heart. This brings to mind a line in a song by Willie Nelson, "Stand By Me", (not the pop song most think of by the same title), which was played at our brother's funeral: "God, Who never lost a battle, stand by me". The founders of our great Republic (yes, we are a representative Republic, not a Democracy) were Christians who lived with God standing by them, in their daily lives. They knew they had no lives without Him. And today, Christian Americans still carry on that which was bought for us by their blood, and the blood of Jesus Christ.
America, wake up and claim your Christian heritage before it's taken away from you.

Presidential Thanksgiving Proclamation

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. I haven't written anything in almost 2 weeks. I don't pick my topics so much as the topics pick me. I have to feel moved to write and express myself. The past couple of weeks, as I was watching what was happening in the world, and keeping up with news on the internet, I became disheartened. Seeing the man who was supposed to be the leader of the greatest country in the history of and on the face of the earth, get door after door closed in his face as he traveled to Indonesia, India, and Portugal. He celebrated Veterans Day, which is an American observance, in Indonesia and praised, not the American military, but the Indonesian military. At least he didn't apologize for America on this trip, but he did bow down to a Hindi official and state that America was once a world leader. I began to feel somewhat shamed that the rest of the world is judging Americans by the man that fooled too many a couple of years ago. The resentment I have felt over the Americans who were either fooled by him, or knew who he was and just didn't care, or voted based on color of skin and not content of character, began to rise up and choke me again. I've had to work my way up thru that morass again, and once again deal with the reality that so many Americans are so clueless and apathetic. I read an opinion on line this morning that proposed we should be thankful that Obama and the Democrats have grabbed so much power and so many of our rights in such a short time, because it shook many Americans out of their stupor and lethargy. I'm thankful, dear God, that we only have 2 more years left to survive this wanton destruction of America from within. So here are some interesting Presidential Thanksgiving Proclamations to consider and compare:

Within a year of being elected the first President of the newly formed Republic, the United States of America, George Washington issued this proclamation:

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor - and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.
Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be - That we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks - for His kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation - for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war - for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed - for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted - for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which He hath been pleased to confer upon us.

For almost 100 years, Thanksgiving Days were observeed by the individual states, at varying times of the year. During his Presidency, Abraham Lincoln issued several Thanksgiving Day proclamations in Washington D.C. calling for local days of thanksgiving. Sarah Josepha Hale, the editor of Godey's Lady's Book campaigned for 15 years for a national thanksgiving date, until, in 1863 President Lincoln responded to a letter from her by designating the last Thursday in November each year as a national Thanksgiving Day. The following proclamation is credited to President Lincoln, although in the handwriting of his Secretary of State William Seward. It's not known if President Lincoln composed it himself or if Seward did:

The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever watchful providence of Almighty God. In the midst of a civil war of unequaled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign States to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respeccted and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military conflict; while that theatre has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. Needful diversion of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defence, have not arrested the plough, the shuttle or the ship; the axe has enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. And now for comparison, here is Obama's Thanksgiving Proclamation. I had already found the proclamations of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln before I came across one solitary mention of this one on the internet; therefore I didn't know that Obama had referenced both of them in his. And since I don't know which one of his many speechwriters actually wrote it, I can't give credit where credit might be due. However, I do want to mention something that is kind of a sore point for me - the mistaken assumption that by supporting the Democratic Party, one is supporting the party of emancipation, freedom and rights. That cannot be further from the truth, and any American that believes that is very sadly mistaken. President Abraham Lincoln was a Republican and it was the Republican Party and it's followers who fought so hard for the emancipation of the black slaves in America. The Democratic Party, which was composed largely of southern slave-owners fought against the emancipation of their slaves, their "property"; to the extent that the Ku Klux Klan is an off-shoot of the Democratic Party.  From Obama, the man who refuses to give voice to the concept that our inalienable rights are bestowed by our Creator:
A beloved American tradition, Thanksgiving Day offers us the opportunity to focus our thoughts on the grace that has been extended to our people and our country. This spirit brought together the newly arrived Pilgrims and the Wampanoag tribe - who had been living and thriving around Plymouth, Massachusetts for thousands of years - in an autumn harvest feast centuries ago. This Thanksgiving Day, we reflect on the compassion and contributions of Native Americans, whose skill in agriculture helped the early colonists survive, and whose rich culture continues to add to our Nation's heritage. We also pause our normal pursuits on this day and join in a spirit of fellowship and gratitude for the year's bounties and blessings.
Thanksgiving Day is a time each year, dating back to our founding, when we lay aside the troubles and disagreements of the day and bow our heads in humble recognition of the providence bestowed upon our Nation. Amidst the uncertainty of a fledgling experiment in democracy, President George Washington declared the first Thanksgiving in America, recounting the blessings of tranquility, union, and plenty that shined upon our young country. In the dark days of the Civil War when the fate of our Union was in doubt, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a Thanksgiving Day, calling for "the Almighty hand" to heal and restore our Nation.
In confronting the challenges of our day, we must draw strength from the resolve of previous generations who faced their own struggles and take comfort in knowing a brighter day has always dawned on our great land. As we stand at the close of one year and look to the promise of the next, we lift up our hearts in gratitude to God for our many blessings, for one another, and for our Nation. This Thanksgiving Day, we remember that the freedoms and security we enjoy as Americans are protected by the brave men and women of the United State Armed Forces. These patriots are willing to lay down their lives in our defense, and they and their families deserve our profound gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
This harvest season, we are also reminded of those experiencing the pangs of hunger or the hardship of economic insecurity. Let us return the kindness and generosity we have seen throughout the year by helping our fellow citizens weather the storms of our day.
As Americans gather for the time-honored Thanksgiving Day meal, let us rejoice in the abundance that graces our tables, in the simple gifts that mark our days, in the loved ones who enrich our lives, and in the gifts of a gracious God. Let us recall that our forebears met their challenges with hope and an unfailing spirit, and let us resolve to do the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constituion and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim Thursday, November 25, 2010, as a National Day of Thanksgiving. I encourage all the people of the United State to come together - whether in our homes, places of worship, community centers, or any place of fellowship for friends and neighbors - to give thanks for all we have received in the past year, to express appreciation to those whose lives enrich our own, and to share our bounty with others.

Could that be any more generic and politically correct? America was founded in order to worship and praise Almighty God, which our founders openly and frequently recognized. George Washington spoke of Almighty God in his first sentence and by name or pronoun at least 15 times in his 3 paragraph proclamation. Abraham Lincoln's proclamation names Almighty God in it's second sentence and another half-dozen times in it's single paragraph. Both Washington and Lincoln repeatedly ascribed our blessings and freedoms as coming from Almighty God. Obama issued a 6 paragraph proclamation, in which the 6th paragraph was all about himself; he doesn't speak of God until the 2nd paragraph and that is to quote Lincoln calling for "the Almighty hand" to heal and restore our Nation. The 3rd paragraph mentions gratitude to God for our many blessings; and then in the 5th paragraph is mentioned the gifts of a gracious God. Unlike Washington and Lincoln, who delineated blessing by blessing, and attributed them to God; this years proclamation mentions bounties and blessings in general, with no mention of what they are or Who they came from. Instead we are told to thank the Native Americans and to express appreciation to those whose lives enrich our own. Our founders, and most of our Presidents since our founding, were Godly men. Regardless of what you may think of Obama's religious preference; we do not, for perhaps the first time in American history, have a Godly president.
President Lincoln spoke of "one heart and one voice by the whole American People".
America, find your founders heart, find your founders voice.

The Path to Shariah

In this short video, Col. Allen West takes 2 minutes to brilliantly give a chronological history of Islam and points out that Islamic terrorists are not just a handfull who are distorting a religion for their radical purposes, but are in fact living up to the actual tenets and teachings of Islam. Col. West is a newly elected Congressman from Florida, and a Constitutional conservative. When forced to resign from the military for a harsh interrogation technique that uncovered information that saved the lives of many of our wonderful military men and women, Col. West said he would do it again; that if it meant the welfare and lives of his troops he would walk thru Hell with a gasoline can.

In the pre-Reagan era, the American policy toward the Soviet Union was one of  "detente"; the thought that the Soviets could be placated by accomodative policies; much like Obama's policy of appeasement toward muslim-majority countries. Back then, a group of highly-regarded analysts formed to critique that policy of accomodation. In 1976, they formed "Team B", to rebut the accepted government ("Team A") policy regarding the Soviet Union; and found that detente was actually exposing the U.S. to lethal danger. It was the findings of Team B that later formed the foundation of the Reagan Doctrine. Now a new team of analysts have formed Team B II to study the effectiveness of appeasement on the spreading of Islam and Shariah throughout the fiber of America. Yesterday, the Center for Security Policy released the results of that study; a 372 page document entitled "Shariah - The Threat to America, An Exercise in Competitive Analysis, Report of Team B II".  I found a summary of that report at http://www.rightsidenews.com/ titled Chilling Report / The Legal, Political and Military Path of Shariah in the United States Today. You can go to Right Side News to read their summary, or to the Center for Security Policy website to read the entire report. Here are a few points I want to emphasize from the summary:

For over 60 years, muslims have been settling in the U.S. under a strategy of  "stealth jihad". At the center of that strategy is Shariah ("the path"), which has been misconstrued as a religious doctrine, but is in reality a legal-political-military doctrine. In 1991, a document was seized at the home of a Muslim Brotherhood member; "An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America". I have seen this reported on at World Net Daily; if anybody is interested, you can go there and find it in their archives. In this document, the Muslim Brotherhood outlined how it planned using peaceful means at first, then calling for the destruction of America, to be replaced with rule by Shariah. It is outlined under Point 4 "Process of Settlement": "The process of settlement is a "Civilization Jihadist Process" . . . the Brotherhood must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions". 

Another document which came to light in 2004 during the Holy Land Foundation terror funding trial, listed the phases of that "stealth jihad" and the Team B II report indicates we are close to the last phase. Phase One calls for discreet and secret establishment of leadership (muslim leaders quietly established themselves until once we hear their names they have been entrenched for decades).  Phase Two calls for gradual appearance on the public scene and exercising and utilizing various public activities, infiltrating sectors of the government, establishing religious institutions, gaining public support, and establishing a shadow government within the U.S. government (muslims now in high offices in the regime, in Congress, advising the president, and at least 3 in the Dept. of Homeland Security, the latest appointed by Napolitano quietly 3 weeks ago). Phase three calls for escalation prior to conflict and confrontation with the government, utilizing mass media (they are currently stepping up their actions, lawsuits, etc, and manipulating msm into being sympathic to their causes). Phase four calls for the open public confrontation with the government, exercising political pressure (look at Imam Rauf and the Ground Zero Mosque issue, he confronts the government openly and uses political pressure to his advantage) and training in the use of weapons here and abroad , getting ready for zero-hour (there are many training camps for muslims here and the government does very little to shut them down, the assaults won't all come from overseas). Phase five calls for the seizing of power to establish the Islamic Nation under which the various groups are united (all muslims are working toward the same goal, eliminate us).

Our government seems to be going out of its way to aid and abet the muslim take-over of America. I've written in the past about the 2 "devout muslims" that Obama appointed to the Dept. of Homeland Security shortly after he took office; Arif Alikhan the Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for Policy Development, and Kareem Shora on the Homeland Security Advisory Council. What hasn't been publicized much is that about 3 weeks ago, Napolitano added another "devout muslim" to the Homeland Security Advisory Council as a "de-radicalization expert"; Mohamed Elibiary, who is openly critical of the U.S. prosecution of terror suspects. Here are some other examples of how political-correctness has allowed muslims to invade the fabric and fiber of American life: a known agent of Hamas and an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror funding case was given a tour of the FBI's National Counterterrorism Center back in September, Anwar al-Awlaki the American-born cleric behind several terror plots including the Fort Hood shooter led a prayer meeting in Congress and had lunch at the Pentagon since 9-11, the chief of staff for a Congressman started  the Congressional Muslim Staff Association which had the head of an organization that supplys funds to al Qaeda come and lead prayers, the National Counterterrorism Center recruited a de-radicalization expert Yair Qadh who is on the terrorist watch list, Muslim Students Assn at Ohio State University was found to be funded by a terrorist financing group, a New Jersey judge ruled that a muslim man may beat and rape his wife because his religion allows it, recently appointed Supreme Court judge Kagan promoted Shariah as dean of Harvard Law School by developing a Saudi-funded program to introduce Shariah compliance, Hillary Clinton used her position as Secretary of State to lift a 6 year ban on the son of the Muslim Brotherhood founder who is now back in America aggressiively pursuing "stealth jihad", and the epitome of the stupidity of political correctness is the sensitivity training of FBI agents in Islam to prevent offending muslims. When did the FBI ever show concern about offending Christians, Jews, Hindus, et at? For that matter, how often is someone hired by the government described as a "devout Christian, or Jew or Hindu"?

The Right Side News summary of the Team B II study points out that the radical left, in promoting the goals of radical Islam, is very aware of what those goals are. Many of the radical left muslim sympathizers and abettors are in our own government. David Horowitz has written about it in his book "Unholy Alliance, Radical Islam and the American Left". I haven't read it yet, but I will; I want to know how many other high level officials in our own government are leading us to slaughter by the muslims. Copies of the complete report on the study by Team B II will be delivered to Congress. I'm hoping that this will be something that Congressman Issa (R-CA) and Congressman Smith (R-TX) will have one of their investigation teams  look into. These days, I look around and I feel like Alice after she fell down the rabbit-hole. Have half of my countrymen/women lost their collective minds? Do they really want to "accomodate" and "appease" a barbaric system of  law, Shariah, that has nothing to do with a "religion" and everything to do with being legally able to beat, rape and kill another human being? That goes against everything I've ever known about America; and for anybody, ANYBODY in America to even for a nano-second consider allowing it goes against the very spirit of America.

Having spent most of my adult life living near military bases, from 1966 to 2004, I have a great respect and love for our wonderful military men and women. Hundreds of them have come thru my life, be they family or friends, they are all loved ones. We have been endowed by our Creator with our inalienable rights; but it is our military that sacrifices so that we won't lose those rights. Regardless of what many may think, our rights are not granted by any government or politicians, although those rights are documented in the Constitution of the United States of America; neither do any government or politician serve to protect those rights as much as our military does. It's our military that puts themselves in harms way, puts their very lives on the line to stand between our freedoms and tyranny. Some gave all; all gave some. God, bless them.

As I was scanning thru Free Republic this morning, I saw that one of the members had submitted a "vanity" post; as it's called when somebody posts their own thoughts or comments rather than posting a news article and link. It was a tribute to our troops on today, Veterans Day. When I started to read it, I saw the poster had typed out the Armor of God scripture from Paul's Letters to the Ephesians. It struck me as extremely fitting for the times we are in, and so appropriate; bringing to mind that old axiom "there are no atheists in the foxholes".  I am more of a "Christian soldier" and "prayer warrior" than somebody who, with a facade of sweetness and piety, asks What Would Jesus Do?  I'm more apt to point out that while Jesus IS the embodiment of love, he also confronted sinners and rebuked sin; and physically drove the money-changers out of the temple at the receiving end of a whip. Being a Christian doesn't mean being a wimp (thank you Pastor Nick) and meek doesn't mean weak (thank you brother Bill). So in honor of our military veterans, active duty, retired, and deceased; and as a reminder to every American to keep them all in our prayers:

Sharia-compliant Complacency

In last weeks election, the state of Oklahoma passed, with a 70% majority of voters, a change to their state's Constitution that would bar judges in that state from considering international law or Sharia law when rendering their judgements. Oklahoma prefers it judges to consider Oklahoma state law or United States federal law when deciding cases before them. Sounds reasonable to me. Then CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) stepped in and filed an application for an injuction. A judge granted a restraining order against the state of Oklahoma preventing it from implementing it's new law, until a hearing is held on the constitutionality of it. CAIR won Round One. While driving into town yesterday, I was listening to Mike Gallagher talking about this turn of events. He mentioned a column Thomas Sowell had just written about political judges. I came home and looked up Sowell's article. It didn't speak to this case, but to the appointing of judges in general, instead of putting them on the bench by elections. He ended his article by saying we should stop treating these judges like "sacred cows" when too often they are full of bull.

Let me give you a little background about the judge who sided with CAIR against the State of Oklahoma; Vicki Miles-LaGrange. She's the first black woman to serve in the Oklahoma state legislature or appointed as a federal district judge. She is an activist judge, ala Sotomayor and Kagan, appointed in 1994 by then President Bill Clinton. Which tells you she's a progressive, at least, if not completely socialist. Her education credits, per wikipedia, list University of Ghana (West Africa): Vassar College and Howard University here in the U.S.  The Ghana connection intrigued me; although Ms. Miles-LaGrange is a long-standing member of a Baptist Church. I wondered why, as a Christian, she would support proponents of Sharia law. Thanks to wikipedia, I have my answer: in the 9th century, Islam began it's spread thru West Africa with it's roots in Ghana. Ms. Miles-LaGrange must surely have lived in Ghana while she was attending the University of Ghana. It brings to mind Obama living in Islamic Indonesia, then attending a Christian church for 20 years, while maintaining his obvious muslim leanings and sympathies.

The CAIR lawsuit against the State of Oklahoma was brought by Muneer Awad, the executive director of CAIR in Oklahoma. His claim is that the new Oklahoma law banning international law and Sharia law violates his 1st Amendment rights through the condemnation of his faith and singles out Islam by barring courts from referrring to Sharia law. I don't see how he has a case. The new Oklahoma law won't prevent any muslim from practicing their "religion"; it will prevent the implementation of a barbaric, stone age type of criminal justice system that calls for such things as the stoning to death of women for adultery or "caning" of them for wearing western clothes or being in the company of non-relative men, for the killing of infidels (those who don't believe in Islam, i.e. Christians), or cutting off the hands of thieves (even someone who steals food because their children are starving). Do we really want that kind of law in America? I say NO! And anybody who labels themselves a Christian should be shouting NO! also. We are heading toward Sharia-compliant Christianity. Christianity is practicing slow-motion suicide, instead of acting in self-defense. The implementation of Sharia law in America will give muslims a legal right, under law, to kill Christians.

Mike Gallagher also mentioned yesterday an ABC program hosted by Christiane Amanpour, with a panel discussing Islam. I looked that up on the internet also. I hadn't heard about it, so I assumed it was something from a while back. Wrong. It was from a recent episode of  "This Week" on ABC, from a few Sundays back, questioning "Should Americans fear Islam?". On the panel was Reverend Franklin Graham, Reza Aslan of The Daily Beast, and Anjem Choudary who is the leader of the extremist group Islam4UK which is now outlawed in Great Britain. According to CNS News, 10-6-10, Amanpour chastised Reverend Franklin Graham for pointing out the dangers of radical Islam, while Reza Aslan said the Reverand's position "is actually the definition of bigotry". And what did Muslim cleric Anjem Choudary have to contribute to the discussion? "We do believe as Muslims, the East and West will be governed by the Sharia. INDEED WE BELIEVE THAT ONE DAY THE FLAG OF ISLAM WILL FLY OVER THE WHITE HOUSE. Islam has a solution for all of the problems that mankind faces".  (emphasis mine) I would like to point out that any muslim cleric or scholar can pass judgement on any person under Sharia law, without need of a judge or jury, by passing a fatwa and condeming that person to death. Is that the kind of law we want in America?

While looking for a source for the statement that Mike Gallagher said Choudary had made (and which no major news outlet reported), I came across information on CAIR founder Omar Ahmad, and also information on another muslim leader, Abu Saif of the Party of Liberation, which states its aim is to establish the rule of Islamic law (Sharia) over the world. First, about Omar Ahmad: in 1998 reporter Lisa Gardner, writing for the Fremont CA Argus newspaper and the San Ramon Valley Herald, covered a conference Ahmad spoke at regarding "How Should We As Muslims Live in America". She quoted Ahmad as saying "Islam must one day dominate the U.S. Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book of Scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth". To be fair, when Ahmad was asked about this quote by World Net Daily in 2007, he claimed that he had protested it's accuracy to the publications it appeared in and disputed Ms. Gardner's reporting, but neither publication ever printed a retraction or correction. Ahmad also denies that he told the group of Muslims at the conference in 1998 that they are in America not to assimilate but to help bring about Islam's rule over the nation.

At this same conference was Abu Saif, the Party of Liberation representative. Abu Saif spoke at a muslim rally in London  in 2007 that was covered by World Net Daily, talking of a future vision that encompassed an Islamic takeover of the White House and the rule of the Quran over America. Abu Saif was interviewed (taped) by Rusty Humphries for World Net Daily, stating "Are we to say that Muslims can fully practice religion in America . . . say, for instance, I was a Muslim in America. Could I call for the destruction of the American government and establishment of an Islamic state in America? No. So where is the freedom of religion? There is none."  When asked by Humphries if he called for the overthrow of the American government, Abu Saif replied "Of course, we want Islam to be a source of governance for all of mankind. And we also believe that one day America will be ruled by Islam. One of the prophecies of the message of Muhammad was the hour will never come, i.e., the last day - which you (Christians) also believe in - will never come until a group of Muslims . . . will rise and conquer the White House." Humphries warns that America has 3 major vulnerabilities to patient, fundamentalist Muslims who believe their purpose for being in America is to help fulfill that prophecy; our unprotected borders, our inability to say NO to the muslims, and the lack of assimilation of muslims into American culture. Christians, we need to stand up and say NO!

On the subject of our unprotected borders, the video at the top is from a Phoenix AZ television station; reporting about the incursion, over our border with Mexico, of several hundred members of the Islamic terrorist organization Al Shabob. A happening that our government, in the form of Obama's Department of Homeland Security head, Janet Napolitano is choosing to do nothing about. Our own government, for reasons of political expediency, in the hopes of padding it's voter base with hispanics, by pandering to the large population of illegal aliens in America, is endangering the lives of it's own citizens by doing nothing. And another article I want to mention, since it strikes a chord with the "taking over the White House" Islamic prophecy, is from Newsmax dated 9-7-08 and quotes Menashe Amir, the Iranian head of Radio Israel Persian language: "Iran's leadership has expressed great pleasure at the prospect of a Barack Obama victory in November. One of the Iranian religious leaders said if Obama will enter the White House, then Islam will conquer the heart of the American nation. The Iranian leadership likes Obama mainly because he is a Muslim. His first name Barack, comes from "Al-baraq" which is the name of the horse that muslims believe Muhammad rode on his way to paradise."  This sent me to my Bible; Revelation 6:5-6: "When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the thrid living creature say, 'Come!' I looked, and there before me was a black horse! It's rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, 'A quart of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!"  The third horse of the Apocalypse, the black horse, signifies famine. I've heard on the news the past couple of days, that economists are predicting after the Federal Reserve just monetized American's debt, that we will be facing rising food prices and shortages; we are told to expect $20 loaves of bread and to pay $24 for a bag of sugar. And who put the measures in place that is bringing America to it's knees?

But back to the subject at hand; the push of muslims in America to force us to become Sharia-compliant. Aided and abetted by Christians who are trying too hard to be politically correct. There is a report in the U.K. Telegraph from yesterday 11-9-10, about a woman sentenced to death by hanging in Pakistan. Her name is Asia Bibi, a 45 year old mother of 5, and the charge is blasphemy - a capital offense under Sharia law. She was working in a field with other women and was asked to go fetch some drinking water. When she got back, some of the muslim women in the group refused to drink the water, claiming that it was "unclean". There was a confrontation, which died down; but a few days later Asia Bibi was beset by a mob. She was rescued from the mob by the police, which was really no rescue at all; because the police succumbed to pressure from muslim clerics and charged her with blasphemy. A charge for which the muslims clerics sentenced her to die by hanging. Her true crime? Being an infidel in the eyes of Islam; being a Christian. Is this the kind of law and punishment we really want in America? It has nothing to do with the practice of a "religion". It has to do with barbaric, stone age, theocracy. Christians, we need to stand up and shout at the top of our lungs, loud and clear, on the subject of Sharia law in America, a resounding NO!

Trust Him To Keep Kids Safe?

Sometimes I let ideas for posts swim around in the swamp that is my mind for a while before I write about them. If they swim away, then I let them go. This subject has been pressing on my mind since day before yesterday, Saturday. Yesterday, as I was going in to town to have lunch with my sister Lou at the nursing home, I was listening to Life and Liberty on the radio. They have a great website too. I heard a quote which was attributed to President John Adams, our 1st American Vice President under President George Washington, our 2nd American President, and father of President John Quincy Adams our 6th American President. When I went to look up the quote, to get the text of it correct, I found a couple of other quotes by President John Adams that are relevant to our current times. Here is the quote that caught my attention on Life and Liberty Radio:

"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by moralty and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. OUR CONSTITUTION WAS MADE ONLY FOR A RELIGIOUS AND MORAL PEOPLE. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other".

Here are the other two quotes by President John Adams, that struck a chord with me:

Which brings me to the person who has, for some reason, been heavily on my mind the past few days. Kevin Jennings, the so-called "Safe Schools Czar". The following information may be familiar to some of you. It's from a Fox News article of 9-23-09 that I forwarded along with a letter to my Senators, Cornyn and Hutchison, and then forwarded to my email contacts; and also Senator Cornyn's reply to me on 10-13-09, to which I added further information about Kevin Jennings before forwarding that also. A lot of you already know that I am adamantly against the indoctrination of America's children within the public school system, by left-wing liberals; taking over so much of that which should only be the rights and responsibilities of parents. One area that strongly concerns me is the sexualization of young children, much like pedophiles do to "soften up" their victims. Y'all know I'm not a prude, and what adults choose to do is up to them, their choice; but don't impose adult attitudes on somebody else's children. The area of sexual attitudes and any moral guidelines attached to that issue, belongs solely under the guidance of parents. Not in the hands of  "officials" who would teach that sex has no value except as a bodily function, and certainly no moral or societal restrictions.

I've brought to attention recently the struggle that parents in Helena MT are fighting with the local school board over it's proposed sex education agenda; wanting to use pictures to show kindergarteners sexual genitalia as a means to teach them the proper words for them, planning to teach 6th graders different sexual acts and positions. There is an update; the school district has conceded that it will drop the graphics it had planned to show to 5 and 6 year olds, but still planning to teach them the "proper words" for genitalia, but still planning to go ahead with teaching sexual acts and positions to 11 and 12 year olds. That's just obscene. And I've been pointing out that a lot of federal legislation starts with "test cases" on a local level. Governor Mike Huckabee was interviewed on another Fox News show right after last weeks election, and he said the same thing. Talking about the fact that conservatives / Republicans picked up 680 seats in various state legislatures and another 22 governorships making that total now 27, he mentioned that a lot of federal laws start out as state or local laws that are then picked up by Congress. You can be sure that Obama's "Safe Schools Czar" Kevin Jennings has his eyes on what's happening way out in Helena, MT.

Now to Kevin Jennings; a little background on him: he is a former teacher, an advocate for promoting homosexuality in schools, openly writes about his past drug abuse without expressing regret, and expresses a contempt for religion. He wrote the forward to the book "The Queering of the Elementary Schools"; stated that he wants to "encourage homosexuality in the public schools" and wants kids to be taught about homosexuality as early as kindergarten.  How confusing will that be to them? In his own book, "Mama's Boy, Preacher's Son: A Memoir" he dedicated a chapter to Harry Hay, the man behind NAMBLA (National Association of Man-Boy Love) and praised Hay in a speech as being his inspiration. Hay espoused that the greatest experience boys as young as 13 could have is involvement with older men. Jennings, when he was a teacher, was approached by a 15 year old boy troubled because he had been picked up in a bus station by an older man and had sex with him. Instead of addressing the issue of pedophilia and victimization of a child, which this clearly was, Jennings merely told the boy he hoped he had used a condom. How "cool" was that? Jennings started the organization GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network) which is now widespread in schools across the country. At a GLSEN  conference in 2000,  there was an "educational" seminar for kids that included instruction in various sex acts; one of which is "fisting". If you don't know what that is, look it up. It was described as "an experience of letting somebody into your body that you want to be that close and intimate with". Adults? That's their business. Kids? That's another whole ballgame. Leave the kids alone!

Since being annointed; excuse me, appointed, "Safe School Czar" Kevin Jennings has compiled a list of 100 "Recommended Reading" books for teachers and students. I'm not going to list the titles here, you should look them up for yourself. But they read like pornography. Again, a tactic used by pedophiles to acclimitize young children before victimizing them. I read excerpts from some of the books on the list. One described a teenage girl who recommended teenage prostitution as a means to boost self-esteem. Give me a break, is anybody but a gullible teenager going to believe that becoming a prostitute will make them feel better about themselves? Another described sexual encounters in the boys room at school between kindergarteners. Yet another described a 13 year old boy who spent months "screwing" every boy / man he could. I don't recall any of the "100 Recommended Reading" books advocating anything but homosexual acts; nothing being taught about sex or love between members of the opposite sex.  In the Fox News article, Peter Sprigg, a senior fellow at the Family Research Council was quoted as saying "Jennings was obviously chosen for this job because of the safe schools aspect . . . defining 'safe schools' narrowly in terms of  'safe for homosexuality'." It's clear to me that Jennings is serving to indoctrinate Americas children with his own personal attitudes about sexuality; teaching only a homosexual agenda instead of the whole picture. Like I said, indoctrination. Which leads me to the moral / religious aspect, which should be up to the parents / family of the children of American to impart to them. Here's what Jennings has to say about that, from his above mentioned memoirs: "What had God done for me . . . Squat. Screw you, buddy - I don't need you around anymore, I decided". Speaking of the Baptist Church: ". . . I wanted no more of it or its Father. The long erosion of my faith was now complete, and I, for many years, reacted violently to anyone who professed any kind of religion".

Thus saith Kevin Jennings, "Safe School Czar". Do you trust him to keep your kids safe?

Get Your Popcorn Ready

The shenanigans of "Dirty" Harry Reid were bound to come to light; there was almost no chance he could have beaten Sharon Angle in the election the other night without some "dirty deeds". According to The Hill, here's how the win was snatched from the jaws of defeat: Reid's campaign committee sent an email on election day to the vice president of Harrah's Casinos asking for help and offering to have Reid call to authorize whatever "backing" was needed to make that help forthcoming. The vice president of Harrah's Casinos then sent a memo to all department heads, who sent the department supervisors into every office to ferret out any employees who had not voted. Busses were quickly provided to then take all Harrah's employees - and there are quite a few throughout Nevada (Las Vegas, Reno, Laughlin, etc) - that had not voted, to the polling places and have them vote for Reid. Needless to say, there are many calls going out for the Nevada Secretary of State to investigate this blatant voter tampering before Reid is sworn in, so that the election win can be transferred to Sharon Angle in the event that those Harrah's employees votes are thrown out. Word also has it that Attorney General Eric Holder and the U.S. Dept. of Injustice will be investigating this matter right after it deals with the voter intimidation by New Black Panther Party members in Philadelphia in the 2008 election.

Stock up on popcorn; the newest investigation show is bound to be entertaining and enlightening. We now have 2 new committee chairmen in the House who are raring to go with investigating the shady goings-on in the Obama regime. Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) is now the Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and Congressman Lamar Smith (R-TX) is now the Chairman of the House Judicial Committee. Fox Philadelphia mentions that both men have been critical of the Obama administration and the Holder Justice Dept. And both men now will have the power to compel people to testify before Congress. The Washington Post speculated that Attorney General Eric Holder may get the first subpoena of the new year in the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation case from 2008. By the way, it happened against last Tuesday, same place in Philadelphia; the same Black Panther that was wielding a billy club in front of the polling place there in 2008 was pacing in front of the doors again this year, minus the billy club, but wearing a big Black Panthers button on his jacket. Emboldened, I'm sure, by the tacit approval given by the Obama regime.

Congressman Issa, who the New York Times has dubbed "the annoyer-in-chief" has been outspoken against the unethical doings of the Obama regime for the last couple of years and has been digging into possible illegal actions that may be grounds for impeachment. He vows to investigate the bailouts, the stimulus, and the health care bill. He said his first point of business will be to grant subpoena power to all 74 of the governments inspectors general. You know, those people that the Obama regime have just conveniently fired when they have brought forth evidence of wrongdoing on the part of the administration. Then Issa is going to form investigation teams and start issuing subpoenas..

Congressman Smith has been a thorn in the side of the Obama regime, insisting that the New Black Panthers Party be investigated and prosecuted for voter intimidation in 2008, He is strong on immigration enforcement and border security, saying that the Obama regime has been lax in the areas of border security and terrorism. He is also in favor of reforming the 14th Amendment to close the "technicality" that grants birthright citizenship to children of illegal aliems. Smith is also a proponent of using subpoena power to get to the truth and to get to the facts. Instead of the administration continuing to be able to dodge any kind of supervision and oversight, Smith says their refusal to testify is no long acceptable.

Among the things Congressman Issa and Congressman Smith are planning to investigate are the Sestak affair where former president Clinton proferred a position in the Obama administration to Sestak if he would drop out of the primary and allow Spector to remain; the "Cornhusker Kickback", and the "Louisiana Purchase". Now they have another incident of meddling by Bill Clinton, to look into: asking the Democratic candidate in Florida to drop out of the race so Charlie Christ would have a chance to beat Marco Rubio. I've often said that this is the most openly corrupt administration in American history, they don't care who sees them doing their dirty deeds; it's the only thing "transparent" about the current regime. But I'm sure what they've allowed us to see is just the tip of the iceberg; remember it was a huge iceberg under the surface that sunk the Titanic.

I can't wait to see what more corruption Congressman Issa and Congressman Smith are able to uncover. It's going to be enlightening, and so very entertaining, and oh so edifying. The liberal pundits are starting to squawk about the Republicans possibly trying to impeach Obama. There was even a petition posted on facebook a couple of weeks ago asking the Republicans not to impeach Obama. Now why would the liberals and the Democrats even worry about that, it they weren't already aware that there are grounds for impeachment, whether they want to give voice to them or not. In espionage circles, when things are being talked about in the background, it's called "chatter". Well, there has been "chatter" on the internet for several weeks that there is a big scandal involving Obama that is going to come out after the election. I saw word (just from a commenter on another article, just speculation at this point) just today, that the New York Times is sitting on information about a "Watergate-esque" event that they are about to blow open. Stock up on popcorn, sit back and enjoy the show.
